Once again the YPO is proud to support Julia’s Garden by volunteering at their Charity Wine Event on Friday, March 15, 2013. Our Board’s own, Jenny Wilson, a franchise owner of Cruise Planners , is also donating a lovely gift basket to be raffled along with other fabulous items. This year the event will be held at Lake Pearl Luciano’s in Wrentham from 6:00 to 11:00. Tickets can be purchased at The Julia Foundation by March 5th.
The Julia Foundation created and maintains Julia’s Garden, a playground at the World War I Memorial Park in North Attleboro in memory of Julia Cekala.

The YPO is once again volunteering at this year’s Julia’s Garden Charity Wine Event.
On Friday, March 30, 2012, The Julia Cekala Charitable Foundation is hosting the fifth
annual “Julia’s Garden Charity Wine Event” to raise funds to benefit “Julia’s
Garden”, a popular community playground built in memory of Julia Cekala.
The Julia Cekala Charitable Foundation supports the local community through the building
and maintaining of the “Julia’s Garden and Playground” complex located in the
World War I Park in North Attleboro, Massachusetts.

With the holidays quickly approaching and the giving season upon us, the YPO is pleased to announce our 2nd annual Giving Tree collection drive to benefit The Santa Foundation. The tree has been set up at the Hampton Inn in Franklin, MA where patrons can collect an ornament to donate hats, mittens or scarves for all ages.
Can’t get to the Hampton Inn? Don’t worry; picking up an ornament isn’t required to donate. Patrons can drop off all unwrapped donations to the Hampton Inn, 735 Union Street, Franklin, MA or to the United Regional Chamber of Commerce office at 42 Union Street, Attleboro, MA.
Donations must be returned by December 9, 2011.
Members of the YPO will deliver all of the items collected to The Santa Foundation after this date.
The Santa Foundation in Franklin, MA was established over 25 years ago to fulfill one goal – to provide gifts for families in need at Christmas time. 100% of all contributions, cash and gifts received go directly to local families in need. In 2009 alone, The Santa Foundation assisted over 700 families.

Berry Insurance is participating in the 5th Annual Halloween Costume Drive, and is collecting costumes with the YPO.
Halloween costumes and accessories will be donated to Children’s Hospital Boston just in time for the annual kids costume parade at the hospital in late October. Only new costumes and accessories will be accepted, ranging in sizes for infants to teens.
To make a contribution to this great cause, please visit the Berry Insurance Franklin or Quincy offices or The United Regional Chamber of Commerce Attleboro or Franklin offices, before October 21.

Community involvement is integral with United Regional YPO’s mission. We were honored to assist our Young Professional Board Member, Ron Groves, at Child Safety Day held on June 11th at Harbor One U in Mansfield. The United Regional Chamber of Commerce with board members of United Regional Young Professionals partnered this event with Harbor One U, North Bowl Lanes and Truly Nolen Pest Control. The children (and adults) enjoyed free ice cream, bowling, coloring, temporary tattoos, and were able to get a close up look at the Truly Nolen mouse car! Together Ron and Vicky, two YPO Board members, helped about two dozen families by creating digital CD-Rom Child ID Kits that contained photographs, finger prints as well as current height and weight information. We hope no one ever needs to use the CD, but it made us feel good to know that we all played a small part to help local families. All of us with kids hugged them a little tighter that night.
